South African Tennis Future Stars Embrace Israel in Historic Visit

A team of young tennis hopefuls and coaches from the Arthur Ashe Tennis Club in Soweto, South Africa, just outside Johannesburg, are in Israel for 10-days of touring and advanced tennis training with the Israel Tennis & Education Center. Voice of Israel provides exclusive coverage of the historic visit, and hears from players on a range of topics including their aspirations, spirituality, and their introduction to Middle Eastern cuisine. South African coach Moses Nthuping, a former black tennis champion barred from competing against white players under the apartheid regime of South Africa, tells Voice of Israel that Israel has become his second home, and that the junior players of Soweto and Israel are like ‘brothers and sisters.’
