The Israel Tennis & Education Centers Foundation hosts a series of events to rally support for Israeli youth and emphasize the importance of sport and education in overcoming adversity.
The 8th annual Wycliffe Arad program and exhibition at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club in Wellington saw its largest crowds.
Among the inspiring participants was 17-year-old Liron Tezazo, from Be’er Sheva, who joined ITEC’s Ethiopian leadership program when she was five. “Through ITEC, I’ve learned essential life skills, including English fluency, and developed a passion for tennis,” Liron says.
12-year-old Miley Svidinski, from Ashkelon, sees her tennis center as a haven. “I love my tennis center. It’s my safe place, where I have friends and coaches who feel like family,” she says. “I dream of representing Israel and becoming a top player in the world.”
Through the events, attendees gain firsthand insight into ITEC’s critical programs. For over 40 years, ITEC has been a beacon of opportunity for children from diverse backgrounds across Israel. With 24 centers serving over 10,000 children annually, ITEC provides a safe and supportive environment where young people can develop both on and off the court.
programs emphasize leadership, coexistence, and personal development, benefiting Jewish, Muslim Arabs, Christian Arabs, Druze, and Bedouin communities.
This year’s events are particularly significant as ITEC continues its crucial work supporting Israeli children, especially in light of the recent war in Israel. ¦
