We’re excited to share the launch of a groundbreaking new initiative at ITEC that marks a significant step forward in our mission to reach diverse communities across Israel through the power of mentorship, education, and sport.
Yesterday, ITEC Jerusalem officially kicked off a two-month pilot program designed specifically for Haredi youth, in partnership with the inspiring foundation, Goal for G-d. Haredi refers to a sect of ultra-Orthodox Jews who strictly observe traditional Jewish law and customs, often distancing themselves from modern secular culture. This new collaboration is unique in that it introduces Haredi boys to structured sports activities and integrates Torah-based learning and values education into the program, offering a holistic approach that aligns with the community’s traditions and lifestyle.
Goal for G-d has developed a curriculum that fuses Jewish teachings with personal development and skill-building through sports. The aim is to broaden horizons, introduce new life skills, and foster growth in a comfortable and respectful setting of Haredi culture.
Currently, the pilot serves 10 boys, all recruited through a yeshiva, with whom ITEC has built a relationship over the years. This marks the first time we are engaging with this group through such a structured and in-depth approach.
We plan to expand this pilot into a yearlong program in 2026, pending positive results and additional funding. If you are interested in donating to this program, please reach out to Yoni Yair at yyair@itecenters.org. With Goal for G-d as a committed educational partner, we’re also exploring how this model can be adapted and introduced at other ITEC centers across Israel.
Stay tuned for more updates as we break new ground—together.
