A Day of Joy and Relief for Children Impacted by the War in Israel

ITEC recently hosted an unforgettable day for 90 children from Ashkelon, Ofakim, and Beer Sheva—communities deeply affected by the ongoing war in Israel. Through the generosity of donor Jonathan Bloom, the children experienced a day of joy and relief despite their unimaginable challenges. His incredible support allowed us to create a much-needed day of happiness for these children, giving them a break from the tough realities they endure daily.

The event was originally to be held at the Steele Club in Herzliya, but due to the escalating security situation in the North, everything was moved to the South. As always, ensuring the safety of the children and staff was the top priority. The children gathered at the center in Beer Sheva, where their day kicked off with a healthy breakfast to fuel them for the fun ahead.

The day was packed with exciting activities, including tennis and other sports that filled the air with laughter and energy. Seeing the children smile, play, and be kids was a true gift.

One of the most impactful moments of the day was a session with a mental health coach who worked with the children to help them discover their inner strengths and believe in themselves. This wasn’t just about healing trauma; it was about building resilience for the future. Watching these children engage, open up, and grow in confidence was truly inspiring.

Next, the children gathered for a lively, festive lunch, and the excitement grew when tennis star Andy Ram joined the celebration. Andy’s presence and encouraging words meant the world to the children, many of whom are big fans of his. His support added a special touch to the day the kids will never forget.

To wrap up this beautiful day, the children were treated to a private movie screening with popcorn and drinks. It was the perfect way for them to relax and enjoy time together, surrounded by care, support, and positivity.

Jonathan Bloom’s generosity created a day these children will carry with them for a long time. It was a brief but impactful moment of joy and hope amidst the difficulties they face, and everyone at ITEC is deeply grateful to him for making it possible. We’re already looking forward to more opportunities to provide this kind of support to children affected by the ongoing conflict.

At ITEC, we are always open to special projects that reflect our donors’ passions and serve the children in meaningful ways.
