Israel Tennis & Education Centers Takes Active Role in Mitzvah Day Celebration

Posted on: 03/30/2015

This past week the Israel Tennis & Education Centers participated in Israel’s national “Mitzvah Day”, in which hundreds of children from the ITEC Embrace Programs for youth at risk took part in activities designed to help those in need. These included:

– Children from the ITEC – Akko spruced up a local garden by painting the walls and planting flowers;
– Children from the ITEC – Kiryat Shmona rolled up their sleeves and volunteered to do chores at the center;
– Children from the Elizabeth and Lawrence Krulik Family ITEC – Tiberias helped renovate the gates, clean the garden and hang swings;
– Children from the Harry and Evelyn Burg ITEC – Arad visited a day care center whose workers have special needs;
– Children from the Ethiopian Excellence Program at the Samson Israel Tennis & Education Center – Beer Sheva along with children from Addison Reserve Embrace Program visited a local group of seniors, made them cards and cleaned their garden.

These acts of kindness are just one of thousands of activities that take place every year at the 14 Israel Tennis & Education Centers throughout Israel. The children learn the value of giving back from the various programs offered at the centers.

While many people are familiar with the ITEC’s various programs, most may not know that the organization just launched a more dynamic way of showcasing its life altering mission – the newly designed ITEC website. Visit https://itecenters.wpengine.com and enjoy!
