The 2016 Rio Olympic Games start tonight! Israel will be competing in 53 events with 47 athletes.
Israel competed for the first time at the Helsinki 1952 Olympic Games. Israel has won seven medals: one gold (for sailing, by Gal Fridman at Athens 2004), one silver (in judo, by Yael Arad at Barcelona 1992) and five bronzes.
We will be cheering on ITEC alum Dudi Sela, who trained at the ITEC – Kiryat Shmona, in the men’s tennis singles event along with the other Israel athletes. Dudi will play his first round game against Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia & Herzegovina tomorrow. Follow us here for updates. Go Israel!
