We do this by providing opportunities to support every child who lives in Israel regardless of geography, religion, ethnicity, physical ability and socioeconomic status. All across Israel, from Kiryat Shmona in the north to Beer Sheva in the south, a staff of over 300 youth-focused tennis coaches, fitness professionals, social workers and psychologists provide a wide-range of comprehensive social impact and educational programming to help meet the varied social, emotional, athletic and academic needs of Israeli youth. No child is ever turned away.
Using a powerful combination of sports and education, ITEC engages upwards of 20,000 children annually, many of whom have endured serious hardships over the course of their lives and reside in the fringes of Israeli society where social services wouldn’t otherwise reach. The result is an ever-growing number of connections bridging the divide between culture, class, ethnicity and socioeconomic disparity.
Since its establishment in 1976, the Israel Tennis & Education Centers has worked tirelessly to become an agent of social change, with the goal of instilling a sense of excellence, empathy and equality among all of Israel’s children, regardless of their backgrounds. Our founding leaders recognized early on that the path to a safer, stronger Israel would have to be built on common ground, with neighbors helping neighbors.
